What is Coaching Center
Coaching center is a term for private institutes of education that offer classes for almost all the subjects. They prepare the students for the competitive specified exams and tests. That is why students prefer to opt for these classes for the preparation of university-level college, State, and National level competitive exams.
Coaching Centers are very famous in the countries like the UK, USA, India, Malaysia, and the Middle East. Their growth was the direct result of the emergence of competitive exams like SAT, ACT. Coaching centers of India are famous for JEE, NEET, CTET, NET, etc. It is aimed to enhance the academic achievement of Indian students.
Teachers from various schools, colleges, and universities are earning their supplementary income through these Coaching Centers. However, their primary intention and focus are on role education. Due to the immense competition among the students to get the best graduate school and platform, both students and parents have a small choice but to engage with these competitive coaching classes. The trend is always bullish as the parents want the best for their children.
Coaching Center is attaining a platform for one-to-one interaction and special instructions among students. These are also extremely convenient for the teachers, Meanwhile, teachers at these Centers are paid hourly bases with no boundaries.
Difference Between Coaching Center and Tuition
Tuition means studying a particular subject thoroughly. It can broadly seem the master a particular subject. But Coaching is the study of all the subjects of respective competitive exams under one roof/platform. This term was initially adopted for competitive exams like UPSC, CAT, NDA, CD S where knowledge of everything is required which is not possible to grasp all alone.
Coaching is training, a process that aims to improve focus and performance on achieving super results in the upcoming future exams. Whereas Tuition is thoroughly teaching and mastering of subject to individual pupils or small groups.
Banning of Coaching Centers
The banning of Coaching Centers in India was early discussed by several platforms but due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, the ban on coaching centers was an early step to control the virus spread. Students from cities, as well as far-flung areas, are getting admission to coaching centers to acquire specialized training for competitive exams and fulfill their dreams.
There has been a combined statement among the people for banning and running of coaching center. Some say the rich can afford the quality tuition in coaching centers outside schools but things are not the same for the poor. Despite being geniuses and brilliant, poor children are not able to do well in competitive exams. Don't you consider that equality should be ensured among the students from all corners, with the rise of private coaching centers, both the teachers and the maximum number of coaching students did not take the schools class seriously hence this definitely affect the standard of education in schools hence affects the poor?
Every Indian has regretted not joining some institutions to get some extra points. Because, some institutions are worthy but most are worthless, self-study counts the most if students can consider it.
Not all, but the institutes like I mentioned above should be banned if they don't change their teaching behavior.
a) Teachers/Lecturers think of students as machines which can do every work they whatever quantity that the work is very useful in preparations of their exams. I would suggest to the teachers that you have to let the students study all alone for some instances and incorporate the environment of self-study for them. But this doesn't mean that you should stop guiding and assisting them. Give them relevant assignments/drafts and sometimes for them to study all alone.
b) The timing: The majority of the coaching institutes, make different sections that are based on students' grades in initial tests. The high grades students are refrained and selected for the top section while low grades are for the lower section.
This is a ridiculous way of selecting the students, the aim of the center should be the way of environment where you mold the students as per your environment of hardworking and enhancing self-study processes. This will lead to better results as secting them based on marks obtained. Marks do not matter, but the right guidance.
c) These centers provide the best knowledge below the one roof but that is very reflected in the performance of these teachers in the Schools/Colleges because every inch of effort is given to growing the earning and fame of coaching center and the school education which was the backbone is left unnourished, pros and cons both reflect in the future of the society, but overall performance when seeing in the long run, the education system in the state is deformed day over day.
